Plant Fibre Materials

Thanks to Fletcher for pointing me in the direction of the humble nettle as a source of strong fibres. Closer inspection shows that its been put to good use in this regard for millennia and has a long history in central Europe at the heart of the textile and rope industries.

Fibre can be woven, or pulped into a material and moulded – below is an example of bowl made from nettle fibre pulp.
